Young Professionals 17th Annual Charity Crab Feast

Young Professionals 17th Annual Charity Crab Feast

August 29, 2026 - 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Mountain Run Winery
10753 Mountain Run Lake Rd

If you’re a fan of fresh seafood, good music, and supporting a great cause, make plans now for one of Culpeper’s tastiest traditions.

The Culpeper Young Professionals are hosting their 17th Annual Charity Crab Feast on Saturday, August 29th at beautiful Mountain Run Winery.

This all-you-can-eat event has become one of the area’s premier summer gatherings, bringing together great food, local businesses, and community members for a day of fun and fundraising.

Guests can enjoy all-you-can-eat steamed crabs and Low Country Boil, along with live music from Curt Davis, refreshments, and plenty of opportunities to relax and enjoy the winery’s scenic setting.

Early bird tickets are available for $75 through August 14th. After that, tickets are $85 per person and will also be available at the door. Not a crab fan? There are other options available, including a non-crab meal deal and an all-you-can-eat hamburger and hot dog package.

This year’s event will benefit Operation First Response, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing financial, emotional, and personal support to veterans and their families during difficult times. The organization serves veterans right here in our community and helps make a real difference when it’s needed most.

The Culpeper Young Professionals say the annual Crab Feast not only supports an important cause, but also helps fund networking, leadership development, and community service programs throughout the year.

Organizers are also looking for volunteers to help make the event a success. Volunteers receive an event T-shirt and time to enjoy some crab and Low Country Boil during the festivities.

The 17th Annual Charity Crab Feast takes place Saturday, August 29th at Mountain Run Winery in Culpeper.

Art Unleashed - Dogs on Display

Art Unleashed – Dogs on Display

October 24, 2026 - 5:00 pm - 11:00 pm at The CODE Building
240 W Main St

Charlottesville will be going to the dogs this summer… and it’s all for a great cause.

Beginning July first, colorful, artist-designed dog statues will start popping up all over the Charlottesville area as part of Art Unleashed: Dogs on Display, a community-wide public art project benefiting Service Dogs of Virginia.

Local artists and businesses are teaming up to transform the city into a giant outdoor gallery. You’ll find these one-of-a-kind dog sculptures at shops, restaurants, and public spaces across town, each one uniquely painted and designed.

The idea is simple: explore the displays, take photos, share them with friends, and learn more about the incredible work Service Dogs of Virginia does training service dogs for people with disabilities. These dogs help provide independence, mobility assistance, and life-changing companionship to the people who receive them.

But the project is more than just public art.

Everything leads up to the Art Unleashed Auction happening Saturday night, October twenty-fourth at The CODE Building in Charlottesville. That’s the big finale celebration, where many of the statues will be auctioned off to supporters and collectors.

The event runs from five to eleven that evening, and every bid helps support the mission of Service Dogs of Virginia. Proceeds from the auction will go directly toward building the organization’s new training facility, which will allow them to double the number of service dogs they place each year.

So this summer, keep an eye out around Charlottesville for those colorful dog statues popping up around town. They’re part of Art Unleashed, a creative community project with a powerful purpose.

And if you want to learn more about the exhibit, or how you can support the mission of Service Dogs of Virginia, just search Art Unleashed Charlottesville online. 🐾
