Charlottesville, UVA, and Civic Organizations Hold Anti-Gun Violence Rally Saturday


CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Charlottesville Mayor Juandiego Wade will join UVA Batten’s Public Engagement in Governance Looking, Listening & Learning Lab and several other groups for an anti-gun violence ride and rally. Other participants are city Police Chief Michael Kochis, the Boys & Girls Club of Central Virginia, community organizations and activists, members of local car and motorcycle clubs, gun violence survivors, and local students and their families.

The “Peace Up, Guns Down: Rides and Rally Calling for an End to Gun Violence” Saturday is part of the 2nd Annual Conflict Resolution and Violence Reduction Summit. The summit features several community events aimed at curbing gun violence in the Charlottesville community. The Rally of Rides begins with a processional featuring classic cars riding from the Jefferson School parking lot, ending with a community rally at the Boys & Girls Club on Cherry Avenue.
