Charlottesville Regional Chamber Finds Continued Retails Sales Growth in 2024 Halftime Report

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – What the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce calls its “halftime report”, the group finds retail sales growth in our area continuing grow through the first half of 2024. The report comparing data from January through June 2024 with the same time period in 2023 shows localities studied collected $1.3-million more in local sales tax — or nearly 4% more — over that time period in 2024 compared to 2023. Louisa saw the largest percentage increase at 12.71%, and Albemarle second at 5.25. Greene County was up 4% while Charlottesville, Fluvanna, and Waynesboro all showed growth as well.
