A recreational vehicle caught fire Sunday and created a major backup for eastbound traffic on Interstate 64 in Albemarle County. State Police says the male RV driver, who had no passengers, suffered severe burns and he’s being treated at UVA Hospital. His vehicle caught fire shortly after 5 p.m. Sunday near mile marker 124, which is the Shadwell exit of I-64. Police are blaming a mechanical problem beneath the driver’s side of the RV.
