Another Weekend Homicide In Charlottesville

Police are trying to solve a new homicide case in Charlottesville. Police say 36-year-old Oscar Nathaniel Brown Jr. died from a gunshot wound shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday near the Westhaven public housing complex. Lieutenant Ronnie Roberts says Brown’s body was found outside an apartment between Hardy Drive and Run Street. Roberts says city detectives are searching for 39-year-old Avery Fernando Gray Jr. (pictured), Gray is described as armed and dangerous. This was the city’s second homicide case of the month. 30-year-old Antonio Lamar Washington, died May 10th at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
Washington was wounded during a dispute at the Al Hamraa restaurant on Second Street, S.E. There have been no arrests in either case. If you have additional information about the deaths of Brown or Washington, call Crimestoppers at 977-4000.
