House approves bill that would forbid Virginia from joining regional environmental coalition

(RICHMOND – WINA)   The House of Delegates approved a bill Wednesday that would not let the Governor nor the Virginia Air Pollution Control Board particate in an existing regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative.   The measure cleared the House 51-47.   The only local delegate who voted against the idea  was Charlottesville Democrat David Toscano.

Toscano and the House minority favor joining New York and New Jersey, six New England states, Delaware, and Maryland in an effort to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
