CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Rivanna Water and Sewer Authority’s installation of a large water pipe is going to necessitate flagging operations and temporary lane closures beginning Sunday night, for four nights at the Fontaine Ave./Lewis Street intersection.

Right now, there is a flagger at the intersection as the pipe is being installed on Lewis.

This Sunday night, they’re going to have to install the 30-inch finished water transmission main across Fontaine as part of the Central Water Line Project.

Work hours across Fontaine these four nights will be 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.

The number of nights could expand if there are any unplanned weather interruptions.

Once the intersection work is complete, construction activities will revert to regular daytime hours as they are now.
