CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW)- Virginia swimming was well represented at the 2026 AP Race London International over the weekend, the first-ever iteration of the event.

The Cavaliers, representing the United States, consisted of David King, Madi Mitenko, and Anna Mosech.  Mitenko ended her weekend with a bronze medal in the 200-meter freestyle and a gold medal in the women’s 4×100 freestyle relay. King took gold in the men’s 200-meter backstroke and was on the bronze-winning American team in the men’s 4×100 freestyle relay. Moesch, on top of her medal count, set an American record time of 51.94 in the women’s 100-meter freestyle.

The second-year Cavalier anchored the women’s 4×100 team that won gold and took the individual win in the 50-meter freestyle as well.  Moesch finished as the top individual athlete of the meet with 986 total points.

Women’s Golf

Stroke play in the NCAA championships concluded in Carlsbad, Calif., over the weekend. Jaclyn LaHa finished in 23rd place representing Virginia, posting a program record mark of 71.15 as her single season stroke average.  She finished the weekend with a 1-over 289 after 72 holes.  Her 71.15 season average, the lowest in program history, caps an accolade-filled third year for LaHa.

Men’s Tennis

In the wake of the 2026 national title-winning campaign, Virginia men’s tennis has landed a new addition to its already comprehensive 2026-27 recruiting class.

Five-time world junior singles title winner Luca Preda will join the Cavaliers for his first year in NCAA tennis next fall.  The Romanian made his ATP tour debut last season and brings a wealth of experience at junior level to a Cavalier team that loses only two players from its squad to graduation.  The native of Constanta, Romania, joins Jack Kennedy, the No.1 ranked player in the incoming recruiting class of 2026-27 from the US.

More Action

Both Virginia rowing and Virginia track & field begin their NCAA Championship runs this week.  Rowing will race at Lake Lanier in Gainesville, Ga., beginning Friday, and the T&F championships begin in Lexington, Ky., on Wednesday.
