CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – For the second straight year, UVA football will have a Week Zero game at Scott Stadium in 2027 when it faces Arkansas State in its season opener.

The two teams are set to play Saturday, Aug. 28, 2027, in a first-ever meeting.

The Red Wolves compete in the Sun Belt Conference and finished 7-6 last season with a win in the Xbox Bowl over Missouri State.

The matchup was originally scheduled for Sept. 18, 2027, before the two schools recently signed an amended contract to move the game to Week Zero.

In addition to the Arkansas State game, Virginia has William & Mary on Sept. 25, 2027, on next year’s non-conference slate.

The Cavaliers open this season Aug. 29 against N.C. State in a Week Zero game moved to Scott Stadium after originally being scheduled to be played in Brazil.
