UVA Men’s Basketball Wins 62-45 Over Coppin State, Prepares for Villanova

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The University of Virginia men’s basketball team triumphed over Coppin State in a home game on Monday at John Paul Jones Arena. The Cavaliers, guided by interim head coach Ron Sanchez, have now achieved a 2-0 start to their season.

Junior Elijah Saunders led the ‘Hoos in scoring with 15 points while freshman Jacob Cofie contributed his first career double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.  Listen to the Postgame Press Conference with Head Coach Ron Sanchez below:

Virginia’s next game is set for Friday, November 15, when they face Villanova on the road, marking their first away game of the season.  Coverage begins at 4 p.m. on WINA with Cavalier Countdown.
