CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – This is the weekend for the University of Virginia Class of 2025 as the University confers some 8000 undergraduate and graduate degrees in 2025 Final Exercises. Many locals say this is the weekend to stay away from the area around Grounds as some 40,000 people converge on the University for the weekend. But for those who are around Grounds, it’s a celebration. The weather forecast for Saturday’s morning’s Walking of the Lawn is a bit iffy at this time, but stay tuned for any changes as we get closer to the time. Announcements regarding the weather plan will be made by no later than 5:30 a.m both Saturday and Sunday. For rain without the presence of lightning, thunder, or high winds, Final Exercises will be held on the Lawn, and School/Department Graduation ceremonies will held indoors. For severe weather conditions, where thunder, lightning, high winds, or other dangerous conditions are forecast, Final Exercises will move to JPJ and all School/Department Graduation Ceremonies will be held indoors.

The University will announce the weather plan using:
