CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Albemarle Police report two of their officers assaulted by a DUI suspect early Tuesday morning at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail. The police department’s Logan Bogert reports the officers had taken 38-year old Charlottesville resident Jasmin C. White of Charlottesville to jail after an arrest for allegedly driving under the influence. When officers opened the door upon arriving at the jail, White allegedly kicked one officer and struck the other in the head with the handcuffs.
White now faces 9 charges including felony malicious wounding, and two counts of felony assault of a law enforcement officer. The officer hit with the handcuffs was taken to UVA with non-life threatening injuries, and White is being held without bond.
