CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – After two years of construction, and a soft opening, a ribbon cutting happened this (Wednesday) afternoon at the new TigerWash on Long Street. Commuters heading up and down the hill between the city limits and Pantops saw the old All-American Car Wash torn down… and the new state-of-the-art Tiger Wash built. Tiger Wash Vice President Nick Rader says they started the construction in September 2022 with a lot of work to do from tearing down an old concrete containment wall in back, and replacing underground water and other infrastructure for the new facility.
City Councilor Brian Pinkston was on-hand along with Charlottesville Area Chamber of Commerce President Andrea Copeland, who led the countdown to the ribbon cutting. Looking like a transition from what looked like 1974 to 2024 from where it was a “wash it yourself with a hose” facility, there’s now an automated washing tunnel Rader calls “the best show in town” .. and you can finish up with free vacuum stations afterwards.

As part of the grand opening, TigerWash also contributed $1000 to the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, which supplies 4000 meals for people in need.
