CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW)- Public trust in broadcast journalism is at an all-time low, and the number of unconventional ways in which people get their news has never been higher.  With more and more eschewing broadcast news in favor of quick and concise twitter posts and internet personalities under no nationwide fairness standards, many in the news industry are wondering what to do next.

This episode of The Forum looks into the history of the free press in the United States, the contributing factors to the decline of trust in it, and explores some solutions on how to move forward.

MaryCatherine Price, Digital Streaming Executive Producer at WRIC in Richmond and host of The Rundown on WRIC+, an inside look at news production, checks in to share her experiences in broadcast news, share her rationale and drive to execute the way she does, and theorizes on the future.
