CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW)- What does it take to accomplish your dreams?

Maybe you want to be an athlete, an actor, an influencer, or just become wealthy.  These are all lofty aspirations that can be difficult to attain.  Most end up moving on from their hopes, and many end up frustrated because of it.

But have you ever wondered about the ones who do make it — the athletes who win trophies, the celebrities on the A-list, or the billionaires who can afford anything. Are they happy? What did they sacrifice to get there?

As it turns out, many are not satisfied.  Athletes at the top of their game retire early, celebrities move away from fame, and many affluent people turn to philanthropic causes as something to do with all that money.

In this episode of The Forum, we dig into why, detailing the mental health-damage that fame, success, and hustle culture itself has on a person.

2024 U.S. Pole Vault champion and Paris Olympian Bridget Williams joins the show to talk about her remarkable experience as an Olympian, her decision to become a mother, and what her future will look like in athletics, as well as weighing on what truly makes a person happy and successful.
