Ruth Jane Davis, age 92, of Charlottesville, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Ruth was born in Charlottesville.

Ruth was born on March 23, 1932, in Rochester, Pennsylvania, to Lawrence Arthur White and Ruth Evelyn Folk White. After graduating valedictorian from Midland High School in Midland, PA, she attended Slippery Rock College and graduated from Geneva College. In 1953, Ruth married Theodore “Ted” L. Davis, whom she met while studying at Slippery Rock College. Ruth took great pleasure in spending time with her family, playing with her pet dogs, composing music and poetry, and baking desserts. After moving to Charlottesville, she attended Aldersgate United Methodist Church and was well known for providing her homemade fudge for family and church gatherings.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Ted and her siblings Dorothy White Monzi and Lawrence A. White.

Ruth is survived by her four sons, Mark Davis (Mary) of Pasadena, CA, John Davis of Lake Junaluska, NC, Robert Davis (Kathleen) of Charlottesville, VA, and James Davis of Vero Beach, FL, sister-in-law Margaret O’Kresik of Hermitage, PA, seven grandchildren Erica, Andy, Chris, Jonathan, Jason, Mary Jessica and Allie, one great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
