Ralph’s American Tap Room Closes at Barracks Road Making Way for New Restaurant March 19

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Four years after opening, Ralph Sampson’s American Tap Room is now closed. The former UVA basketball star joined in the business venture with northern Virginia-based Thompson Hospitality founded by UVA classmate and company founder Warren Thompson. The restaurant opened at Barracks Road Shopping Center with much fanfare with former and current UVA basketball players, UVA cheerleaders, and Charlottesville city leaders at its ribbon-cutting. The space will still be leased by Thompson Hospitality, and Ralph will still be a partner in the new restaurant, Milk & Honey which will open March 19, The new restaurant will be “a southern-inspired restaurant known for its famous chicken & waffles, shrimp and grits, and mimosa towers — and that’s just the beginning”.
