NC Hall of Fame Names UVA Basketball Star Wendy Palmer Among Class of 2025 Inductees

RALEIGH, NC (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame has announced Roxboro, NC native Wendy Palmer, a former All-American and ACC Player of the Year at Virginia, has been named to its 2025 induction class. The state’s Hall of Fame notes Palmer was the 1992 NCHSAA Female Athlete of the Year, starred at UVA as the career rebound leader and two-time ACC Player-of-the-Year. She played at UVA from 1992-through-1996, followed by an 11-year WNBA career where she was a 2000 All-Star & 2004 Most Improved Player. Virginia Athletics notes Palmer was the first Cavalier to total at least 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in her career at Virginia.
