Monday: Weather-Related Closures and Delays


CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Severe weather and flooding from the remnants of Hurricane Helene have prompted closures and delays in the Charlottesville area. Below is a list of current updates for businesses and schools affected by the ongoing situation:

Albemarle Co Govt Offices
: Delay open 9am Monday
Albemarle Co Public Schools: Closed Monday (STATUS CHANGE)
Albemarle Montessori: Open late 8:15am Monday

Appalachian Christian School: Closed Monday

Augusta Christian Academy: Closed Monday

Augusta Co Public Schools: Closed Monday

Charlottesville City Schools: 2-hour delay, buses will run 2 hours later than usual. There will be no early morning/zero period classes at CHS or Buford. This delay is due to the additional rains and possible area flooding in the overnight forecast. The extra time will provide staff – especially those who report early, such as bus drivers – better conditions for safe travel in the morning. 12-month employees should report two hours late.
