CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Ice cream lovers can satisfy their sweet tooth while supporting a good cause during Dairy Queen’s annual Miracle Treat Day on Thursday.
Participating Dairy Queen locations across Central Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley will donate $1 or more from every Blizzard Treat sold to UVA Health Children’s, helping fund programs and services that directly benefit young patients and their families. Funds raised support needs such as specialized pediatric equipment, Child Life services, hospital playrooms and assistance with lodging, meals and transportation for families receiving care.
According to UVA Health, local Dairy Queen restaurants have raised more than $75,000 annually in recent years through Miracle Treat Day, making a meaningful impact on children’s healthcare throughout the region.
The Charlottesville-area participating Dairy Queen is located at 1777 Fortune Park Road. In Albemarle County, participating locations are 2647 Stuarts Draft Highway, 79 Lee Hwy in Verona, and 108 Blue & Gold Drive in Elkton with additional participating locations throughout the Shenandoah Valley.
Miracle Treat Day is part of Dairy Queen’s longstanding partnership with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, with every dollar raised staying local to support patients at UVA Children’s Hospital.
Community members are encouraged to stop by a participating Dairy Queen on Thursday, enjoy a Blizzard Treat, and help bring comfort and care to children and families across the region.
