CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Virginia Lottery says winning lottery tickets are about to expire in a little more than two weeks, including a million-dollar New Year’s Millionaire Raffle ticket purchased in Fishersville. The ticket purchased in the January 1 drawing that will expire June 30 was purchased at the Food Lion at 30 Windward Drive in Fishersville. It was one of five million-dollar winners in that annual drawing, and the only one unclaimed.

The other outstanding winner is a $50,000 December 28, 2024 Powerball draw purchased at a 7-11 in Chesterfield County. This one expires June 26. By law, winning tickets in Virginia expire 180 days after the drawing with unclaimed prizes going to Virginia’s Literary Fund that provides low-interest loans to localities for public school construction, renovations and technology upgrades.
