Metro Richmond Zoo Announces Name of New Baby Pygmy Hippo

MOSELEY, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – All the votes are in, and the Metro Richmond Zoo announces the name of the new baby pygmy hippo is Poppy. Zoo leadership says more than 116,000 votes were cast from 165 countries, and Poppy emerged as the favorite with 52.8%. They say, “Poppy is the perfect name for this playful, perky, and ever-increasing popular hippo. Her name is a flower just like her mother Iris.”
