Man Wanted in Multiple Counties Hits Charlottesville Police Car During Pursuit


CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Charlottesville police are looking for Daquan Devante Sims, who is wanted for a felony hit and run involving a police vehicle on June 27, 2024. Sim is also wanted in Rockingham County for violating parole and in Greene County for assault.

Police say that while they were trying to apprehend Sims, he fled in a white rental GMC Sierra with Virginia plates TTJ7012, striking an unmarked Charlottesville Police vehicle.

The officer was not injured, and it is not believed that Sims was targeting the officer’s vehicle.
