CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW)- A 49-year-old man was brought to the Louisa County Sheriff’s office Tuesday having suffered an apparent gunshot wound, according to a release from the department. The sheriff’s office is now investigating the incident.

The man’s wife transported him to the sheriff’s office after, she said, she found him in the area of Fredericks Hall Road, but did not know where he had been before that.

While the man was receiving treatment, LCSO received another call regarding a suspicious vehicle, left unattended at the 1600 block of Mica Rd, still running with its doors open.  Investigators were able to determine that the vehicle had an association with the injured man.

The victim was conscious, alert, walking and speaking with deputies and emergency personnel when he arrived at the lobby of the sheriff’s office, according to the release.

Anyone with information regarding either incident is asked to call the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office non-emergency number at 540-967-1234.  Anonymous tips can be submitted through the LCSO app, and the office’s crime solvers channels.
