Gretchen Walsh ACC Women’s Swimming & Diving Scholar-Athlete of the Year

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Junior Gretchen Walsh has been named the ACC Women’s Swimming & Diving Scholar-Athlete of the Year, with Virginia placing 35 student-athletes on the ACC All-Academic Teams. It marked the fifth consecutive year a Cavalier has been selected for the award. Kate Douglass was named the ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2022 and 2023 and Paige Madden received the honor in 2020 and 2021.

Walsh’s academic accolade adds to her extensive, world-class athletic resume that includes 7 NCAA women’s swimming championships in 2024: 200 Medley Relay, 50 Free, 200 Free Relay, 100 Fly, 400 Medley Relay, 100 Free, 400 Free Relay. She is the CSCAA Women’s Swimmer of the Year.
