Former Shenandoah Commonwealth Attorney taken into custody on two felony counts

Agents with the Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation Culpeper Field Office took Amanda Wiseley of Strasburg into custody on Wednesday.

Shenandoah Commonwealth’s Attorney from 2012 until 2024, Wiseley appeared before a magistrate and was released on her own recognizance.

According to a release from Virginia State Police spokesman Matt Demlein, a Shenandoah County Circuit court grand jury indicted Wiseley on October 16th on two felony counts of making a false statement on a tax return and misuse of public assets.

The charges relate to her time in the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office.
