Fire damages three vehicles in Market Street garage

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Three total vehicles are damaged after one caught fire Saturday afternoon in the Market Street Parking Garage. CFD was dispatched at 4:09 p.m. to a car on fire with flames visible on the second floor. The first fire units arrived shortly after and found a 2012 GMC Acadia with its engine compartment fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters extinguished the fire quickly, but not before some minor heat damage to two other vehicles.

The garage was closed to vehicles entering while the cleanup occurred, but vehicles were allowed to leave.

No word on the cause of the fire.
