Fatal crash on Taylors Gap Road

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – On Thursday, April 25, 2024, at approximately 2:41 pm, units from the Albemarle County Police Department and Albemarle County Fire Rescue responded to a motor vehicle crash in the 600 block of Taylors Gap Road.

The units arrived to find two vehicles involved in a head-on collision.

Both drivers were transported to UVA Hospital, one suffering from life-threatening injuries, the other from non-life threatening injuries. The driver who sustained life-threatening injuries, 32-year-old Nathaniel B. Spindel of Albemarle County, later succumbed to those injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the department’s Crash Reconstruction Team.
