CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Early voting is underway, and Albemarle registrar Lauren Eddy says that’s also the day mail-in ballots for those requesting them will be sent out. The deadline for those is postmarked by Election Day and must be received in the registrar’s office by noon the Friday after Election Day. Good rule of thumb, especially with the way mail delivery is going, is to get the ballot back into the mail as soon as you know who you’re voting for.

In-person voting is at the Albemarle 5th Street County Office Building from 8:30-to-5 Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Tuesday they’re open 7am-to-5pm… and Thursdays 8:30am-to-7pm. They’ll also be open the two Saturdays prior to Election Day from 8:30-to-5. Hours vary by locality, so check with your local registrar.
