Crash involving tractor-trailer hauling cattle closes portion of I-81 in Augusta County

VERONA, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – A crash I-81 northbound of a tractor-trailer hauling cattle is causing huge delays through Augusta County on the way to Weyer’s Cave and Harrisonburg. State Police say the crash happened at 11:42am involving the truck and two other vehicles. State Police, VDOT, Augusta County Fire/EMS, and Augusta County Animal Control are on the scene, and there are loose cattle.

The crash is between exits 227 Verona and 235 Weyer’s Cave with a backups nearly to the I-64 Staunton exit.
