COROLLA, NC (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Corolla Wild Horse Fund and Currituck County Sheriff say a 10-year old wild stallion was struck and killed Friday night on the beach by a UTV at MM 20 at Corolla. Horse fund leaders got the call around 11:30 Friday night July 26 from a surf-fishing individual who reported seeing the incident. The 10-year old had been dubbed Bullwinkle and sustained severe and fatal internal injuries and was euthanized on the beach… though he reportedly resisted any intervention like a fighting stallion should.

Though the driver left the scene, witness descriptions led deputies to arrest 57-year old Porter Williamson and his wife Rhonda Williamson on various charges of obstructing law enforcement. He was jailed on $10,000 bond, and she on $5000 bond.
