CCS elevates Jackson-Via interim principal to permanent post

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW)- John M. Kronstain, former assistant principal at Jackson-Via Elementary who has been the school’s interim principal since March, has been named to the permanent role effective July 1, Charlottesville City Schools announced. 

Kronstain has worked for the Charlottesville schools since 2015, starting as a counselor at Walker Upper Elementary, and serving as an assistant principal at Charlottesville Middle, Tall Oaks Elementary and Jackson-Via. 

“I am overjoyed to continue the work of supporting our staff, students, and families of Jackson-Via and continue the Jackrabbit legacy of inclusion and educational excellence while cultivating an environment where every student and staff member feels seen, supported and challenged to achieve their full potential,” Kronstain said in a statement. 

The current school year will conclude May 29, and the next year will start Aug. 12.
