Albemarle Police Investigating Weekend Fatal Ivy Area Crash

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Albemarle Police are investigating a fatal weekend crash in some woods in the Ivy area. ACPD as well as Fire Rescue got the call shortly after 8 Sunday night of single-vehicle crash in the 3600 block of Colston Drive. Upon arrival, crews found a vehicle fully engulfed in fire in the woods. After the fire was extinguished, the responders found one person in the vehicle deceased. The identity is being withheld pending family notification. The crash remains under investigation by ACPD’s Crash Reconstruction Team.
