Albemarle Police: One Dead in Three-Vehicle Crash at Rio Road East and Hillsdale Drive

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – On Thursday, August 8, 2024, at approximately 6:22 p.m., Albemarle County Police and Fire Rescue units responded to a fatal three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Rio Road East and Hillsdale Drive. One individual was pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.

The Albemarle County Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating the cause of the crash.
