ACPD arrests Palmyra man in Hydraulic Rd break-in

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Albemarle County Police arrested a 25-year-old Fluvanna County man accused of a home invasion late Friday night on Hydraulic Rd.

Pierre Z. Tharpe, of Palmyra, is being held at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail on charges of felony breaking and entering, three counts of assault, destruction of property, public intoxication, and obstruction.

According to an ACPD release, a 911 call came in around 11:30 p.m. Friday from someone reporting an unknown person had entered their home in the 2600 block of Hydraulic, near Commonwealth Dr.

The home was occupied at the time by a couple and their infant child. The suspect fled the home after an altercation with one of the adult occupants. The occupant he scuffled with sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

While enroute, officers located an individual matching the suspect description in the area, and detained Tharpe.
