CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – A suspect has been arrested for an August shooting that took place in the 800 block of West Main Street and injured a 45-year-old male.

Devon Bruce, 34, was taken into custody in the 600 block of 6th St SE on Wednesday. He has been charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The shooting took place on August 16 at approximately 11:17 p.m. Charlottesville officers arrived to find the victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The officers then administered critical first aid until emergency medical personnel arrived. The man was then transported to the University of Virginia Medical Center for treatment that left him in stable condition.

The Charlottesville officers were assisted by the U.S. Marshals Task Force.
