CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – State Police confirm two deaths in a Sunday morning plane crash just east of Palmyra. An initial report came in around 9am, and a short time later debris from a small private plane was found in a wooded area near the 200 block of Miles Jackson Road.

Fluvanna County fire crews had to put out a fire from the crash. State Police say a pilot and passenger in the aircraft bound from Manassas to South Carolina did not survive. The FAA and NTSB have been called in to investigate.
