Man Sentenced to 24 Months for Assaults on Rivanna Trail


CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – Thursday, in Charlottesville Circuit Court, Judge Claude V. Worrell sentenced Cole McNair to 24 months in jail for the May 1, 2024 and May 12, 2024 assaults of two women in the area of the Rivanna Trail. Eighteen months of the time imposed by the court was suspended leaving an active sentence to serve of 6 months. He was ordered to be on intensive supervised probation for 12 months.

Additionally, he was ordered to have no contact with the victims and to submit to mental health and substance abuse evaluations.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney Nina-Alice Antony.
