Two Stuarts Draft men arrested in Mexican cartel-linked meth trafficking

WAYNESBORO (WINA) – The new Skyline Drug Task Force has executed multiple search warrants leading to the arrest of two Stuarts Draft men in a Mexican cartel-tied meth trafficking ring.

The operation starting Tuesday night into early Wednesday results in the arrests of 32-year old Victor Manuel Romero-Cornejo and 27-year old Luis Antonio Cardenas-Romero.

The warrants executed searches at 5 residences and a storage unit in the cities of Harrisonburg and Waynesboro as well as Augusta and Nelson counties.

Agents were able to seize 14-and-a-half pounds of meth with an estimated street value of $650,000… 2-and-a-half pounds of cocaine worth about $134,000… as well as 3 handguns and 4 vehicles.

Task Force agents call the suspects high-level members of a meth trafficking organization operating in the area since September.
