Two people are arrested following double murder in South Boston

(SOUTH BOSTON, VIRGINIA – WINA)    South Boston Police have made two arrests following last weekend’s murders of two brothers outside a Family Dollar store.    The first person charged with the fatal shootings was a 17-year-old from Halifax County who turned himself in at the South Boston police station.  The teenager is charged with two counts of second-degree murder and one count of a firearms violation.   He is now in a juvenile detention facility.

In addition, 18-year-old Andrew James Harlow has been charged with two counts of Accessory to Kill and Murder.   Harlow is being held without bond after he turned himself in at the Halifax Adult Detention Center.   20-year-old Davonte Shamar Powell died at the scene Saturday night.  His 17-year-old brother Tevin Powell was flown that night to the Duke University Medical Center, where he later died from his gunshot wounds.
