State Police ID a pilot killed in a plane crash near Culpeper

(CULPEPER – WINA)   State Police have identified the pilot who was killed in a Friday night plane crash in the Brandy Station area of Culpeper County.    59-year-old Jon S. Thocker of Loveland, Ohio was conducting aerodynamic maneuvers when his plane crashed near the Culpeper Airport shortly after 8 p.m. Friday.

Thocker was the plane’s only occupant.  He came to Virginia to participate in the Culpeper Air Fest.   The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the fatal crash.
