A Buckingham County man is accused of firing a shot inside an apartment on Hardy Drive. City Police charged 28-year-old David Nathaniel Johnson (pictured) of Arvonia with discharging a firearm in an occupied dwelling, brandishing a firearm and reckless handling of a firearm.

Police responded to the residence in the 800-block of Hardy Drive at around 11 o’clock Tuesday night. A woman told officers that Johnson fired the gun into the floor during an argument. Johnson was not there when police arrived, but he returned later and was arrested.

The woman was taken to UVA Hospital for treatment of possible projectile debris in her leg.
