CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (Charlottesville PD) – Charlottesville police have obtained warrants for a second suspect in relation to the shots fired incident on Preston Ave on May 16, 2022. Charlottesville police are asking the public’s assistance in locating 18-year-old Albemarle County resident Zayon Payne.
Payne has been charged with the following three felony offenses:
- Violation of Virginia Criminal Code, 18.2-286.1 – Shoot from a Vehicle
- 18.2-53.1 – Use of Firearm in Commission of Felony
- 18.2-26/18.2-51 -Attempted Malicious Wounding
