Reverse 911 technology was used recently to locate a missing woman. Albemarle Police say 80-year-old Cora Tironi of Barboursville was reported missing June 3rd on Burnley Station Road.

Police say Tironi was gone for about an hour before the Emergency Communications Center received the call shortly after 4 p.m. County Police, the Albemarle Sheriff’s Office and a K-9 from Louisa County began a search.

The ECC sent out a “CodeRED” alert, also known as Reverse 911, to residents of that area. Neighbors Lisa and Mark Beauchamp began checking their property and found Tironi sitting in the woods behind their house. The couple was able to convince her to take a ride back to her home on their off-road vehicle.
