Lawmakers Consider Limits On Using Driver’s License Info

Many state lawmakers hope to limit what merchants can do with the information on a driver’s license. Fairfax Delegate David Bulova authored a bill that’s designed to protect consumers. Bulova says a retailer can still use a driver’s license to verify a customer’s identity. Store personnel could also keep using a license to prove someone has reached the legal age to buy tobacco or alcohol.
