One dead, two with life-threatening injuries, in Culpeper County crash

AMISSVILLE (WINA) – State Police are investigating a five-vehicle crash in Culpeper County Wednesday night near Warrenton that killed one person and sent two to the hospital via medflight. State Police say four vehicles were traveling west on Route 211-Lee Highway shortly after 6 Wednesday night and needed to stop for a red light at Route 229-Rixeyville Road. A fifth vehicle was unable to stop and rear-ended one of the stopped vehicles, which set of a chain reaction involving all five vehicles.

One person was dead at the scene, and two flown by helicopter to INOVA Fairfax Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Two others were taken by ambulance to Fauquier Health for treatment of minor injuries.
