CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – Sad news among Charlottesville media colleagues as we learn NBC 29 morning and noon news anchor Ken Jefferson unexpectedly passed away Sunday after a brief illness. NBC 29’s Facebook page describes him as “a true newsman and broadcaster who adored his job. He was also a remarkable musician, photographer, friend and dog lover.”

He’s a Richmond area native and had moved back to Virginia from Sarasota, Florida to be nearer his family in Petersburg. Ken leaves behind a twin sister, his mother, and so many others… and memorial service plans are still being made.

NBC 29 is putting together a larger story about Ken, his life, and long career that will air later this week.
