Most of Virginia’s ABC stores can now stay open longer on Sundays. A new law lets the state-run liquor stores operate from noon to 6 p.m. Sundays. The first day when stores will have the longer hours will be Sunday, July 3rd. One of Charlottesville’s more popular ABC stores is in the 500 block of West Main Street (pictured) in the city’s Starr Hill neighborhood.
State ABC Chairman Jeffrey Painter says there’s been a steady rise in Sunday sales, and many consumers have found it’s a convenient day to shop.
