JC Penney has announced a nationwide closing of 33 of its stores with the loss of about 2000 jobs. The JC Penney store at Fashion Square Mall is NOT on the chopping block. The local JC Penney will stay open. The only stores in Virginia that will be closed are in Norfolk and Bristol.
