Greene County temporarily institutes mandatory water restrictions

STANARDSVILLE (WINA) – Greene County has imposed mandatory water restrictions. In a late Wednesday release, the county administrator’s office says water levels are low in the Rapidan River — necessitating this action. County water and sewer director Alan Harrison says the county ” operates as a run-of-the-river intake system” and it’s prudent to put these restrictions on homes and businesses at this time.

The county will advise when river flow reaches the levels where the restrictions can be lifted.
